The Sul America Center occupies a grand, historic building that takes up an entire block in the downtown area of Rio de Janeiro - the city's financial heartland. Built in 1922, the nine-story property has been renovated to create a hi-tech, energy efficient building that maintains the luxurious interiors it is famous for. A French-style façade with ironwork balconies differentiates the building from its neighbors and provides entry to a sophisticated mixed-use space. The center is close to two of the most important avenues downtown - Presidente Vargas and Rio Branco Avenue. The area houses the headquarters of three major Brazilian corporations, specializing in oil, gas and energy, power supply and mining. The center is close to every kind of business amenity and is a short walk from the subway station, as well as being close to the Santos Dumont domestic airport.
