The top two floors of a 42-story landmark building offering panoramic views of mountains, Elliott Bay and Puget Sound hosts the Bank of America Plaza Center at the financial and business heart of Seattle. Courthouses and government agency buildings are nearby, so legal and other professional services are among the neighboring firms. The city has particularly strong information technology, aviation, architecture and recreational industries. It is particularly known as a hotbed of 'green' technologies, stemming in part from the strong stances its public leaders have taken on policies regarding urban design, building standards, clean energy and climate change. Seattle's economy is a mix of older industrial companies as well as technology companies. For example, the area is home to several of airplane maker Boeing's plants. Adjacent to Interstate 5, the Bank of America Plaza center is surrounded by well-known historical sites and hotels, restaurants, shops and entertainment.
