The Vienna Opera - New Business Centre is within a modern building in the heart of Vienna's business district and neighbours the Vienna State Opera, Burggarten park and the shops of Kaerntner Strasse. Vienna is the cultural, economic and political centre of Austria and the 10th largest city by population in the European Union. It is host to many major international organizations such as the United Nations and OPEC. It provides a quarter of the jobs in the country and produces almost a third of the GDP. With rail links with virtually every major city in Europe and an international airport the city has become a finance and consulting hub, especially for new EU member states in eastern Europe. It does also have light manufacturing sectors, including machinery, metal products, electrical equipment, chemicals, textiles, clothing, printed materials and paper. Trams and buses pass by the front of the Opera - Neues Business Center, which has underground parking.
